SEATTLE - CuisineWire -- Caffè Umbria, a leading roaster of premium artisan coffees, is thrilled to announce its participation in the upcoming 2024 Coffee Fest Latte Art World Championship Open. With a focus on excellence in both flavor and presentation, Caffè Umbria will provide its exceptional Grifo Blend, a Medium Roast coffee, setting the stage for a sensory experience like no other.

As the premier event for coffee enthusiasts and industry professionals, the 2024 Coffee Fest Latte Art World Championship Open provides a platform for showcasing the best in coffee craftsmanship. Caffè Umbria is proud to sponsor this exciting competition, where baristas bring their best latte art skills.

The Grifo Blend was created by Master Roaster Emanuele Bizzarri to honor his hometown of Perugia, Italy, where "Il Grifo", the griffin, is the iconic symbol of the city. Known for its complexity and juicy body, our Grifo Blend is an ideal canvas for baristas to showcase their latte art skills.

"I appreciate that the Grifo Blend is a real classic espresso.  I love espresso with a chocolate, nutty, and earthy profile." said Chris Deferio, Coffee Fest Head Judge. "With latte art, it helps when the espresso has a certain velvety texture and a nice contrasting color.  Ultimately, this is why, when deciding which espresso to use for LAWCO, I selected the Grifo Blend.  It plays well with the flow of milk and provides that timeless balance in the cup that makes a latte or cappuccino complete."

This competition not only highlights the creativity of latte artists but also underscores the importance of using high-quality coffee as a foundation for exceptional latte art.

The competition is judged by three coffee professionals, including Caffè Umbria's Terika Raak. Terika has been in the coffee industry for more than 20 years, and has been teaching latte art at Coffee Fest for over 10 years.

2024 Coffee Fest dates are: New York, March 3-5 | New Orleans, June 14-15 | Los Angeles, August 25-27 | Minneapolis, October 11-12.
