SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - CuisineWire -- In honor of the launch of Bravo's Top Chef: Wisconsin, Blue Harbor Resort is kicking off a call for local Sheboygan recipes to feature in the inaugural Taste of Sheboygan Cookbook to benefit the Sheboygan County Food Bank.
According to the August 2023 Traveler Segments Edition of The State of the American Traveler from Miles Partnership and Future Partners, 61.4% enjoy learning about a destination's food culture and history and 32.3% are willing to travel specifically for food experiences. With this new cookbook, Blue Harbor Resort plans to showcase local cuisine in an effort to elevate the food tourism in Sheboygan.
"Food is our common ground, a universal experience," said James Beard.
As Bravo's Top Chef showcases Wisconsin from Milwaukee and Door County to the depths of the cranberry bogs, this new cookbook aims for a hyper-local focus to showcase the food contributing to the unique flavors of Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
Locals are encouraged to break out their culinary skills or crack open the family recipe box to submit original recipes for consideration in the release of the 2024 cookbook. Whether it's a unique twist on brats, the best way to cook salmon or trout fresh from Lake Michigan, the best potato salad at any potluck, or a fabulous hard roll recipe passed down from generation to generation, all submissions are encouraged.
