TORONTO - CuisineWire -- Sher Produce, a local, family-run food producer, will launch their patent pending "Fresh Fruit and Veggie" squares into major retailers over the next 60 days while promising to help people within their community "eat good, do good [and] feel good."

The name "Sher Produce," short for Sherri Belton, the company's co-founder, also highlights the organization's commitment to "sharing" within the community. Since the beginning of the global pandemic alone, Sher Produce has donated more than 111,000 meals to underprivileged Toronto locals, through their "Buy One, Feed One" program.

"As a mother I know all too well the struggle of ensuring that my kids are getting the proper nutrition. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to do the same when your family is relying on food donations to get through a hard time. Many food banks don't have access to nutrient-dense products because they prefer to collect non-perishables. It was important to our team that we give back to our community as much as possible," noted Sherri.

While Sher Produce's nutritious, and delicious fresh fruit and veggie squares are loved by customers of all ages, it is the company's values that set them apart. Sherri, a dedicated wife and mother of four with a background in nutrition, formulated the product with other company members.

For Sherri it started when faced with her teenage son's growing appetite. "He would eat bowls and bowls of cereal every day to no end. I kept asking myself, what is going on? Why is he not feeling full? As a mother and nurse, I wanted to ensure that he was getting the balanced nutrition his growing body needed without sacrificing taste, which is often lost with healthy products."

To meet her son's growing appetite, Sherri and the team formulated "Sher Squares," delicious, nutrient-dense fruit and veggie squares made with local, high-quality raw fruits and vegetables.

With two women running the company's manufacturing, female empowerment and motherhood is the heart of their business.

"We still have people who visit our facility, and when they start talking to our male employees, we laugh and say, 'you're talking to the wrong person', and point them to Sherri and Trudy." Says Tim Sinclair, husband and Co-Founder of Sher Produce.

Sher Squares are now available in Toronto retailers with plans to expand throughout Canada, this year. They serve as a loving reminder that mothers wear many hats and will do anything for their children. For more information visit:
