Ramus Seafood and Booths, family-owned, premium quality businesses join forces to provide customers with products only previously available in some of the UK's finest eateries.
LEEDS, U.K. - CuisineWire -- With 174 years of history, Booths has a reputation for high quality and responsibly sourced produce. Now working alongside Ramus, they are bringing the finest fish & seafood to their stores.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the quality supermarket has placed their continued support to customers and local suppliers firmly at the heart of everything they do. In the most testing of years, Booths has stood steadfast, serving communities, and supporting businesses across the North.
The family-run Ramus Seafood's philosophy is completely aligned with its new partner. With two generations of Ramus and almost 50 years of experience, the partnership foundations couldn't be more deeply rooted. Ramus Seafood has an award-winning reputation for supplying fresh, premium quality, great value fish & seafood to the finest restaurants and hotels. It once presented the Royal Sturgeon to the Queen and prides itself on its history and tradition.

However, with changing shopping habits and a global pandemic decimating the hospitality trade, second-generation owner Alistair Ramus (pictured) saw an opportunity to reposition the business by developing a range of premium quality fish & seafood products for the retail market. They present restaurant-quality products to be enjoyed at home.
Mr Ramus explained, "much of our business disappeared overnight and we had to adapt quickly to supply fish & seafood in a different way. Our retail range was launched in early 2020, comprising of both fresh and oven-ready solutions. We are excited that customers who value fine seafood can still access our products".
Whilst still offering their services to the hospitality industry, Ramus' newfound flexibility has proved a huge success. In less than 12 months, the business now works with over 150 local independent food stores and the range has expanded to include an exclusive line of chef-prepared products (Ramus Kitchen), which complement the fresh fish range and are ideal for the modern consumer.
