Exclusive conversation reveals how 13-year veteran brewery thrives through innovation and experience-focused service
MINNEAPOLIS - CuisineWire -- Midwest Microbrew published an exclusive interview with Ryan, CEO of Indeed Brewery, who shared insights on building lasting success in Minnesota's increasingly crowded craft beer landscape. The conversation revealed how Indeed evolved from the state's 15th brewery to a multi-location operation serving thousands through strategic innovation and unwavering commitment to customer experience.
Ryan, who ascended from packaging line worker to CEO over his 11-year tenure, emphasized that experience drives customer loyalty more than beer quality alone. "You can have the best beer in the world, but the experience is really what people are paying for," Ryan explained during the interview. He highlighted Indeed's meticulous attention to service fundamentals—perfect pours, pristine glassware, optimal lighting and music—as key differentiators.

The brewery has expanded beyond its Minneapolis roots, opening a Milwaukee tap room in 2019 that serves as both an R&D facility and community gathering space. The 10-barrel system in Walker's Point allows Indeed to experiment with new offerings while building strong regional connections.
Addressing industry-wide challenges, Ryan acknowledged declining beer consumption trends. Indeed's response includes diversifying their product portfolio with THC seltzers, non-alcoholic beers, and varied beer styles. "We were one of the first in Minnesota to launch THC products back in 2022," Ryan noted, adding that the brewery prioritizes creating alternatives for every customer preference.
The brewery maintains relevance through continuous evolution. "Green you grow, ripe you rot," Ryan stated, emphasizing the importance of perpetual learning and adaptation. This philosophy extends to Indeed's signature beers, including the meticulously refined Northeast Pills pilsner—seven years in development—and the innovative Mexican Honey, featuring ingredients from northern Mexico.
