RIVER FALLS, Wis. - CuisineWire -- Award-winning craft distillery, Tattersall Distilling announced the release of its first cocktail book, Cocktails in Bloom. Authored by head distiller Bentley Gillman, this 68-page book focuses on simple and sustainable cocktail recipes featuring a guide to locally foraged ingredients of the Midwest.
"My journey with nature and plants began in the lush forests of Wisconsin and Minnesota," says Bentley Gillman, head distiller at Tattersall Distilling. "Over the years I've tinkered and tasted my way through so many experiments with wild foods and flavors. Cocktails in Bloom is a selection of favorites that are easy to execute and involve common and easily identifiable botanicals. The wild can be found just outside our door, so I want to encourage readers to experience a taste of it."
Several of Tattersall's spirits and drinks have been crafted as a result of Gillman's adventures in foraging. Now, for the first time, he shares his knowledge and techniques with readers and home bartenders. Cocktails in Bloom invites readers to explore and embrace the wild flavors of nature. From lightly wooded areas to backyard gardens, the book dives into three distinct sections: Forest, Field and Familiar, showcasing a diverse array of botanicals that are both easy to identify and rich in flavor. Gillman speaks to responsible foraging practices including how to remove invasive species, which helps preserve the environment.
