LOS ANGELES - CuisineWire -- In December 2024, The Hutchinson Trust launched the Healthy Food for Live Project to combat the massive rise in hunger globally and especially in Africa. The Hutchinson Trust will provide ten thousand healthy, nutritious meals to adults and children in multiple African nations that suffer the worst from the hunger crisis. "My hope is that our modest effort will be the difference between health and even life," says The Hutchinson Trust founder Earl Ofari Hutchinson, "for many of the neediest, impoverished and grossly underserved families in Africa and globally."

The project was launched in response to the July 2024 World Health Organization report. It found that one in eleven people globally face hunger. In Africa, the horrific figure is one in five face hunger.

That's just the tip of food disparity horror. Nearly three quarters of children in multiple African nations suffer, malnutrition, an array of huger related diseases, and neglect. Even worse, the UN and other support agencies are facing mountainous challenges in finding added funding sources to meet the daunting crisis.

"The right to have full access to healthy, nutritious food to sustain life and health is not just a right, but a necessity," says Hutchinson, "When hunger takes the devastating toll it has on lives, we all lose."
